1817, John Constable, Weymouth Bay: Bowleaze Cove and Jordon Hill -- National Gallery (London)

From the museum label: The view is towards the west across Bowleaze Cove, Weymouth Bay in Dorset. Constable spent his honeymoon near Weymouth in the autumn of 1816. The picture was probably intended as a finished oil painting, but was left incomplete. The sand is represented by the unpainted primed canvas.
