1661, Rembrandt van Rijn, Portrait of Margaretha de Geer -- National Gallery (London)

From the museum label: Typically for an elderly woman of the time, Margaretha de Geer (1583-1672) wears a large old-fashioned ruff and gown. This painting, like that of her husband Jacob Trip which hangs nearby, is an outstanding example of Rembrandt's late style with its muted colours and broad application of paint.
