1669, Rembrandt van Rijn, Self-Portrait at the Age of 63 -- National Gallery (London)

From the museum label: This self portrait was painted in the last year of the artist's life. It can be compared with the one he made 29 years earlier, hanging in Room 24. Rembrandt now shows himself as a heavy-featured and simply-dressed old man. His style has changed from careful modelling and descriptive brushwork to bold, heavy brushstrokes and the broad application of paint with a palette knife.
