Smiling characters

My friend and I were doing a walk downtown a few years ago and came across some sort of a children's event. I was very amused by these dolls. Unfortunately my friend had no interest in it at all and he walked on, giving me no chance to find out who they are.

 

Is the middle one a wolf??
