Buying alcohol... sanitizers
Honestly this past month I've also bought lots of alcohol myself...
During these early days of the Covid 19 pandemic, many shops have run out of rubbing alcohol and hand sanitizer / sanitiser gel or lotion. A Toronto distiller called the Spirit of York in the heart of the tourist area Distillery District has added alcohol-based hand sanitizer to its product lines of whisky, gin and vodka. To ensure everyone can buy some, sales are limited to one (since then raised to two) bottles per person. They go for CAD $3 each (very reasonable) and all proceeds go to the Food Bank (a charity providing free food items to the poor) and hence, there is no sales tax too!
As this is made in Canada (more specifically, right in Toronto!), I'm adding this to the "things NOT made in China" group.
