LA Times Squares

Glass Squares at the site of one of the California Historical Landmarks (No. 744), the Times-Mirror Building, 145 S Spring Street, Los Angeles. The Historical Plaque at the lower left of the picture reads as follows: "This block is the site of: First brick school house in Los Angeles, known as School No. 1, built 1854-1855; Butterfield-Overland Mail Company Office and Corral, 1858-1861; Office of the US Quartermaster, 1861;, Corral fo camels from Fort Tejon, 1861; and Los Angeles City Hall, Built 1884. Plaque placed by California Parlor No. 247, Native Daughters of the Golden West, May 25, 1949." I considered cropping out the partial body shot of the Angeleno in the lower left, but decided to leave her in to give a better sense of the dimensions of the building facade. (52 of 2014, Week 2 [Squares]).
