Some of the most stunning images from the 611 at Strasburg came from the early morning hours. My feet at this point thankfully were numb, and like everyone, I was just in awe of the moment. When this frame was taken, we were up and in the field for like 20 hours or so. 1 year later, I still kind of am, and love going back through photos to find that perfect frame, with the perfect billow, headlight beaming through the night, steam wrapped around just right, to show the true power behind Norfolk and Western Steam Locomotion.
