Hindi Diwas

The Constituent Assembly of India adopted Hindi as an official language on September 14, 1950. Since then, the day is celebrated as ‘Hindi Diwas’ all over the country. It is an Indo-Aryan language, written in Devanagari script which is spoken by around 40% of the Indian population. To commemorate the day, every year the President of India presents the Rajbhasha awards to people for their contribution towards the language.
