Advent, a season of great expectations, with all the nostalgia of loved hymns, carols and pageants. Is this our sole expectation, or a soul expectation? On a personal level do we offer ourself, our own inner soul, as the place for Christ's birth?

A demanding face, offering hope but also judgement....the fly-away hair and beard dissolving into the words Justice, Faithfulness, and Steadfast Love. ...The hard service of the Word, burning like the prophets. An advent expectation; what can it mean for our society to await the birth of the Christ child?
