Woodwose birdbox

Seen on a houseboat at Woodbridge in Suffolk, this birdbox has a Woodwose theme.

Woodwose, wildmen-of-the-woods, are believed to date from around the 15th. century and can be found carved in the churches of Norfolk and Suffolk, most commonly on pew ends.

Most visitors to these churches are completely unaware of the Woodwoses hidden within, and their significance in East Anglian folklore.
