Neapolitan mastiff
The Neapolitan mastiff or mastino Napoletano is a large and powerful dog who's descendants were the traditional guard dogs of central Italy.
The dog has a weight in the range of 110 to 155 lb. (50 to 70 kg) and a height at the shoulders of between of 24 to 30 in. (61 to 76 cm). The length of the body is about 15% greater than the height.
The skin is abundant and loose, particularly on the head where it hangs in heavy wrinkles. The preferred coat colours are black, grey and leaden.
A Neapolitan Mastiff may be expected to live for up to 10 years although their average lifespan is 7 years.
