The Sierra Cosworth RS is a high performance version of the Ford Sierra that was built from 1986 to 1992. It was the result of a Ford Motorsport project with the purpose of producing an outright winner for Group A racing in Europe.
The Sierra Cosworth RS was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985. It was launched in July 1986 and 5,545 were manufactured in total of which 500 were sent to Tickford Ltd at Milton Keynes for conversion to the Cosworth RS 500. The vehicles were manufactured in right hand drive (RHD) only, and were made in Ford's Genk factory in Belgium.
