Stagecoach in Hull 17035 - S835 BWC

And there it is. The definitive bus of my childhood. And a type of bus that I will always regret that I never photographed. My last memory of one of these that has forever stayed with me is watching one come up Cranbook Avenue with a faulty headlight. Never did I consider, in the autumn of 2016, that the new buses coming that year were going to replace this. And upon realisation of that early in 2017? I was beyond gutted.

It's cold comfort, therefore, to finally be able to post this. I suppose it fills a small hole somewhere? I remember riding one of these home back then, and in one of my oldest photos of a bus taken on my phone, one of these is visible in the background... only identifiable by its bonded windows. Times like these... it just makes me wish I was able to get into bus spotting earlier than I did. Well, I suppose that can't be helped.

Once part of the first fleet of low-floor ALX400s, and therefore Stagecoach double-deckers to enter service in Hull, Stagecoach in Hull's 17035, a 1999 Dennis Trident Alexander ALX400 new to Stagecoach East London as their TA35, is seen turning through Hull bus station at the end of a working on the 13.
