Chosen One

Its never looks promising for photography on a dark and overcast summer's day in Britain (relatively normal). However, when in the New Forest, looking for black and white compositions on the bleak heathland, such condition give great opportunities. The weather conditions meant that there were very few gaps in the low cloud cover for the light to shine through. Thankfully, after some patience and lot of luck, the light picked out a dead tree on the heath and with a little bit of help from lightroom, I was able to find this rather gloomy and moody composition. The atmosphere is one that highlights the harshness of the New Forest, a different side to the one we normally see of purple heather and ponies.
