The historic railway bridge over the Hamme river near Worpswede, Lowersaxony, Germany.

 

If you believe Dieter-Theodor Bohlmann from the Moorexpress association, it was completed shortly before 1910 and is 93.80 meters long.

There is very little information online about this structure, perhaps due to the fact that it is officially inaccessible on foot or by bike.

You can only cross it with the Moorexpress, a historic railway operated by the EVB as a tourist attraction. Or you can rent a canoe from Neu Helgoland and see it from the water.

 

I fell in love with this beautiful bridge as a teenager and for me personally it is a real insider tip, if not one of the most beautiful photo opportunities in the region.

Die historische Eisenbahnbrücke über der Hamme bei Worpswede.

 

Glaubt man Dieter-Theodor Bohlmann vom Förderverein Moorexpress, so wurde sie kurz vor 1910 fertig gestellt und hat eine Länge von 93,80 Meter.

Online findet man nur sehr wenige Informationen über dieses Bauwerk, was vielleicht daran liegen mag, dass sie zu Fuß oder mit dem Rad offiziell nicht erreichbar ist.

Nur mit dem Moorexpress, einer vom EVB als Touristenattraktion betriebenen historische Eisenbahn, hat man die Möglichkeit sie zu überqueren. Oder man mietet sich bei Neu Helgoland ein Kanu und schaut sie sich vom Wasser aus an.

 

Ich habe mich schon als Teenager in diese wunderschöne Brücke verliebt und sie ist für mich persönlich ein echter Geheimtipp, wenn nicht vielleicht sogar eines der schönsten Fotomotive aus der Region.
