BJPL (B9) - Two by two

I think that puzzlers used to be made of sterner stuff. This BJPL puzzle has been circulating since 1968, and earlier borrowers loved it. 'The perfect jigsaw.' 'Absolutely top marks.' More surprisingly, to me, many of them commented on how easy it was - 'Glorious entertainment. So interesting that it practically does itself!'

Even taking into account that over the years, the colours have faded and it is sadly very stained, it's a push-fit killer with highly deceptive colour line cutting. The only real clue was in the title - if one animal appeared through the gloom, its mate would be nearby (apart from the horse). I spent a long time looking for the ducks to go with a pair of webbed feet. They turned out to be the stag's antlers.

It was glorious entertainment, though...

897 pieces, about 19" x 28".
