Four Megapixels

I don't make posts like this on Flickr but I've received a lot of messages asking why I'm using a 4 megapixel camera from 2001? Most questioned the slowness of the camera, the limited iso, and the size of prints that could be made with only 4 megapixels. First, I like using the Canon G2 for my diner snapshots. People are curious by the camera and most think it uses film. The color output from the CCD sensor is great and the 4 megapixels is more than enough to make prints on 17"x22" paper. I also prefer the 4:3 ratio over the 3:2. Frankly I think I could make larger prints if I owned a larger Epson printer. The trick to using these older digicams is to shoot like you're using Kodachrome film. Low iso, get the correct exposure and in low light use the flash.
