FSSAI Registration
FSSAI is a food corporation body of India. FSSAI full form is the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. It is an independent organization which is set by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. It was established in August 2011 under the provisions of Food Safety and Standard Act, 2006. It was in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and Family welfare, as well as the Central government. It looks after properly and safely production and manufacturing and safely handling of food productions. Its main purpose is hygiene and safe food in India. Its purpose is protecting and promoting public health through various regulations and supervision of food safety. It has been created for laying down science-based standards for the article of foods. It controls the food-related issues which are related to various Ministers and Departments.
FSSAI offices have been set up all over India. FSSAI acquires the food license for the Food Business operators in India. It is headed by a non-executive Chairperson which is appointed by the Central Government. Rita Teotia is the present chairperson and Pawan Kumar Aggarwal is the CEO for FSSAI.
Its headquarter at New Delhi.
