Evolution of HRMS

1. Early ‘70s

 

· SAP brought in an HR module to manage employees

 

· Simplification and efficiency was the aim, replacing pen and paper.

 

· But it wasn’t enough.

 

· It only offered Payroll Management.

 

· Not so enjoyed by Medium and Small enterprises.

 

 

 

2. Late ‘70s

 

· Modernization began with ERP system integrated with HR module

 

· Early footprints of Modern ‘HRMS’ were introduced.

 

 

 

3. In 1987

 

· ‘Peoplesoft’ gave a successful deployment of the first client-server HRMS.

 

 

 

4. During ‘90s

 

· Web deployment of HRMS came into existence.

 

 

 

5. After 90’s

 

· For two decades there were several advancements.

 

· HRIS for employee handling appeared.

 

· Performance management system introduced by vendors.

 

· Along came Talent and Learning management systems.

 

 

 

6. Till 2010

 

· Trend of client-side deployed software ended.

 

· SaaS based system dominates the HRMS world.

 

 

 

7. And Now

 

· Biggest milestone in HRMS with AI introduction.

 

· Employee hiring and retention takes large help through AI.

 

· Creating awesome job adverts is possible now

 

· Total simplification and automation is the new reality.

 

· HR made easy!
