TOS Enterprise Aft
With a fourth tour of duty completed in 2271, the Enterprise returned to Earth low orbit for a major overhaul, including the replacement of her ageing warp nacelles and the installation of a new warp core/plasma intermix chamber. She successfully served an additional 5-year mission under now Admiral (Acting Captain) Kirk before being transferred to training duty under Captain Spock of Vulcan. The Enterprise was destroyed in 2285 by self-destruct, to prevent it falling into the hands of Klingon renegades.
