Materials: Adobe Photoshop, Stock Images
Process: I started this with simply painting over the original image I started with, a forest scene with a mostly water based foreground. Next I painted in the dragon, the lanterns, lilies, and spirits to add the fantasy side element to the piece. Once I was completely with these main things I began going through the whole illustration to add smaller details and play with layer styles to get different effects, such as the over all blue hue on top of the image. To finish it off I added a noise filter to give the whole image some texture.
Ideas: I wanted to manipulate and illustrate over an image and give it a more fantastical look while still maintaining the original picture beneath.
