It is quite a subjective and abstract theme. However, there is not a specific image, story or person that inspired me of the use of water as environment in my photos. It really just came to my mind as I was thinking what elements I could use to express that feeling, pleasure and potential danger without solution. I somehow thought of water. Maybe because I do not know how to swim and I once almost died while snorkeling. I know both the panic of getting drowned and the pleasure of floating in water. The deeper I thought, the more intense the similarity became. When I am relaxed, I can float while when I am stressed out, I can sink. In short-term relationships, when I do not care, I can enjoy the pleasure while when I care or get serious, I get negative feedback. That is the key reason why I use water. There are also other advantages. I set the frames of water without border so that “I” cannot get out of it because currently I do not have a solution to this situation. Also, in water, “I” have nothing to rely on. Being emotionally unavailable, I do not feel connected or attached.
