Betty White, is an American actress, comedian, singer, author, producer and television personality. In 2013, the Guinness World Records awarded White with having the longest television career for a female entertainer. To contemporary audiences, White is best known for her television roles as Sue Ann Niven's on 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' (1973–77) and Rose Nylund on 'The Golden Girls' (1985–92).
White is regarded as a pioneer of American television for being one of the first women to have creative control in front of and behind the camera, she is also noted for being the first woman to produce a sitcom which contributed to her receiving the honorary title as the Mayor of Hollywood in 1955. In a career that has spanned over 70 years, Betty has gone on to win seven Emmy Awards (six for acting), receiving 21 Emmy nominations over her career, including being the first woman to receive an Emmy for game show hosting (for the short-lived Just Men!) and is the only woman to have won an Emmy in all performing comedic categories.
