Samarcanda, una strada nei pressi della Panjakent koʻchasi

Sia a Samarcanda che a Bukhara basta fare pochi passi per uscire dai fasti delle architetture storiche ed entrare nelle strade dei quartieri popolari. In queste strade, sicuramente non belle, si cammina però senza problemi, almeno per quello che ho potuto vedere io: il contesto è di assoluta dignità e l'atmosfera è accogliente. Le persone che in questa foto ho colto a sorridere mi pare che rappresentino bene lo spirito che ricordo

 

In both Samarkand and Bukhara, you only need to take a few steps to escape the splendor of the historic architecture and enter the streets of the working-class neighborhoods. These streets, while certainly not beautiful, are easy to walk along, at least from what I could see: the setting is one of absolute dignity and the atmosphere is welcoming. The people I caught smiling in this photo seem to me to perfectly represent the spirit I remember
