Tank Traps, Dee Why lagoon
In the 1940s, the Australian people were afraid of being invaded by the Japanese.
Here's a picture of the remains of a tank trap. Built to discourage Japanese tanks from invading Sydney. Seems a bit hard to believe it would be effective.
This photo taken today, beside Dee Why lagoon. This small sea side lake is an important refuge for migratory birds.
