Kids on Beach, Titusville, Florida
I took a couple of quick snapshots of these kids running on a beach in Titusville, Florida. I never really liked the photo technically but I liked the moment, so I fooled with it in Photoshop CS3 a bit. The first thing I did was to crop it from a horizontal to a vertical and then made a basic curves adjustment for brightness. The "reality" of the scene (dirty beach, choppy waves) was intruding though, so I enhanced the reflection a bit using Flaming Pear's "Flood" filter and then ran the shot through the Buzz.X filter (no longer being sold) to simplify the details quite a bit. Not a great shot, just having fun in Photoshop. You can read a tutorial on using the Buzz.X Filter on my site, but as I said, the company no longer exists.
