Advanced Bladder Cancer.

Diagnosed with Grade 4 metastatic bladder cancer on 4th March 2019, despite having my bladder removed in January 2014 to avoid such a scenario. Chemotherapy started on April 5th 2019 and ended 26th July 2019. Chemotherapy consisted of gemcitabine and cisplatin over 6 cycles - a cycle is based on three weeks: week one and week 2 are treatment weeks and week 3 is a rest week. At the end of cycle 4 I missed one treatment due to a low neutrophils and haemoglobin counts and compensated by a blood transfusion. I had a further blood transfusion in cycle 6.
The major side effects were, for me, fatigue and constipation.
Results from CT scans post chemotherapy are very positive, with the oncologist saying that the scans show"no measurable disease in the lymph nodes" (9/9/19).
