Smoky Sunset-1

Almost 3 weeks ago we had over 11,000 lightning strikes over a 72 hour period. Over 300 fires were started in California. Several of the fires are called "Complexes" because they combine several fires in close proximity. The two largest are over 375,000 acres each. The total of all Cal Fire Incidents is 1.8 million acres.

I have a long distance view & haven't seen more than a few miles or less in the last 3 weeks.

The sunsets don't occur when the sun goes behind the mountain, lately they happen when the sun sinks into a dense layer of smoke over CA's Central Valley.
