Kebler Pass (76)
Kebler Pass provides access to Crested Butte from either Grand Junction or Glenwood Springs, via Colorado 133. It also can form a loop tour from Crested Butte across Schofield Pass to Marble, then south to Paonia Reservoir, finally returning to Crested Butte over Kebler Pass. The road follows the old railway grade and is a wide, well-maintained road suitable for passenger cars. The road offers excellent views of the Ruby Range to the north and the surrounding West Elk Mountains. In the fall, enormous stands of bright yellow aspen bring the scenery to life. The pass runs through a wooded area and does not offer the expansive views to be seen along the road. Special Attractions: Gentle, easy route that follows an old railway grade; Wonderful aspen viewing in fall; Irwin Cemetery
