Requirement #2 - "Grim Grin"
This photo meets requirement 2. To accomplish this shot, I used a black jacket for the background and lit the shot with my iPhone. I put the camera up close to the skull and focused it in such a way that the background blurred into a consistent darkness. To help accomplish this effect I additionally used a larger f-stop (f/4.0) to achieve a smaller depth of field in Manual mode. I wanted to capture the skull moving through space in a ghastly way that matched its mischievous grin. Using a 15 second shutter speed, I moved the skull through the frame with 3 stops along the way (masking my hand with a black sock) to create the effect of the skull floating into the frame in a haunting way.
In post production I reduced the blacks to make the background completely dark and make the shot more dramatic. I also increased the vibrance to make the colors pop for a more "in-your-face" effect. Furthermore I touched up some of the glare in Photoshop because it was drawing too much attention away from the front skull.
