Tulip Tree - A Recent Discovery
Yesterday Lorraine spotted a tulip tree in our neighborhood. We have lived here most of our lives and never spotted it before.
As I approached the property to photograph the tree, the owner was in her backyard. We asked her permission, and had a very friendly exchange.
I will visit her again tomorrow, give her a print of this photo, and express my gratitude.
The wood from tulip trees has many uses. It can be used for making instruments such as organs and pianos, bowls, and beam construction, just to name a few. Its bark is used to make medicines.
