VW + Triumph Hot Rod
A pair of home-built rods, parked on a quayside in the historic city of York, U.K. These cars have been sitting here for quite a few years, and the pair have become something of a tourist attraction. Reportedly the owner/builder lives on one of the barges docked here.
The Volkswagen is a 1974 Type 1 ‘Beetle’ Kustom “Breadvan” conversion, registration: “RKX 215M”. The maroon car - registration “MKV 388G” belongs to a chassis which started out in life as a 1968 Triumph Vitesse. The car has since received a full custom re-body (similar to one from a circa 1930s/’40s Austin), and has turned into a ‘70s-style Hot Rod, fitted W/ a small block motor (possibly a Harley engine?).
