1988 Foden 4350 “E657 OWT”

A rare surviving British-built Foden 4350 twin-axle articulated unit W/ a period ex-Wilkinson’s twin-axle ‘ExpressLiner’ solid trailer on the back. Registration “E657 OWT”.

 

This lorry has been pictured + photographed in various places quite often, and there are several other photos of this very same truck W/ trailer here on Flickr. This truck, however, has been sat in a layby outside the town of York for at least an entire year now, and it doesn’t look like it has moved within that time. However, the vehicle is still currently taxed and MOT’d up-to-date, and is said to still be in regular use. A caravan and a few other vehicles are usually parked behind the trailer unit, which are often filled to the brim with old toys and boxes, etc. I am not sure why this is still sitting in this same layby, or if it has moved at all, and which may have been parked back in the exact same spot since. I wonder what sort of haulage work it’d undertake nowadays.
