1966 Shelby GT350 Clone Tribute Car/Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback Coupe “OGU 652D” (1)
A Lovely 1966 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback Coupe (Model [63A]), Registration “OGU 652D”, Dressed-Up To Resemble A 1966 Shelby GT350. The Lack Of Quarter Windows, W/ Standard Fastback ‘stang Louver/Vents In Place, Different Rear Bumper, Missing Rear GT350 Badge, Mustang GT-Spec Interior Door Trim Panel, Etc - All Indicate This Is Not An Authentic Shelby - But A Very Nice Tribute Car Nonetheless, And Looked Absolutely Stunning Up-Close In Person. Painted In Period-Correct “Candy Apple Red” W/ “Wimbledon White” Stripes. Has A 4-Barrel, 4.7-Litre 289-Cubic Inch Windsor V8 (Either An “A”, “C” Or “K”).
This 2+2 Mustang Fastback 63A Series Is One Of 35,698 Examples Produced For The ’66 Model Year, Whereas An Estimate Of Just 2,386 Authentic Shelby Units Were Built The Same Year.
I Saw This Beauty Stranded On The Side Of The Road Up In Ryedale, North Yorkshire, U.K., On The 16th Of September, 2017. The Car Had Suffered A Slight Mechanical Hiccup, But All Three Friendly Occupants Were In Very Good Spirits, And They Had The Car Up-And-Running Again In No Time, IIRC.
