Sprite group
More than 25 TLEs were observed during the early morning of Apr. 27, 2023 over thunderstorms at E. Aegean Sea and W. Turkey. Bright parent lightning flash seen below. The dark patches are clouds. Observe the lower tendrils of the sprite group, converging towards the thundercloud top (not seen here, but one can safely assume that it is towards the bright lightning flash below). This convergence follows from the convergence of the temporary electric field lines towards the thundercloud.
TLEs (like red sprites) appear, under specific circumstances, above thunderstorms (e.g. red sprites appear at altitudes of 40-90 km).
I've used a Sigma 85 mm lens at f/1.4, for 1/25'' with 30 k iso.
