Gathering of Sprites
3 separate squall lines over the SE Aegean sea, were producing TLEs all night long, during the night of Dec. 4, 2021. This one is from that night. Observe the inclination of the tendrils towards the top of the thundercloud. This inclination is dictated by the temporary, intensified electric field close to the cloud. TLEs appear, under specific circumstances, above active thunderstorms. On this night, more than 300 events were recorded. Surely one of the nights to remember.
