The Blessings of Friday
Friday is a special day for Muslims and there are many blessings associated to it. We have gathered here a few ahadeeth (prophetic narrations) and ayaat (verses) from the Quran that highlight some of the many blessings of Friday in Islam.
1. Friday is the best of days. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him said,
"Friday is the best of days. It was on this day that Prophet Adam was created, it was on this day that he was granted entry into Paradise, it was on this day that he was removed from Paradise (which became the cause for man's existence in this universe, and which is a great blessing)" (Sahih Muslim)
2. On Friday is a blessed hour in which supplications are sure to be accepted. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,
"There is such an hour on Friday that if any Muslim prays, and then asks Allah for some good in it, his supplication will surely be accepted." (Al-Bukhari)
3. It is a smaller 'Eid' (day of celebration) as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,
"Indeed this day is an Eid that Allah made for the Muslims; so whoever among you comes upon Friday should wash themselves (perform ghusl)...." (Ibn Majah)
