NOAA Debunks the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch"

Tiny canoes like that don’t paddle around the center of the pacific ocean. It’s actually a photo of pollution in Manila Bay, because the Philipines dumps its plastic trash in the ocean, just like most of Asia and Africa.

Something that's been illegal in the US for 45 years.

There is no actual "garbage patch" at all, even NASA admits this.

It is actually a natural area called the North Pacific Gyre.

In it, there is no "continent of trash" you can walk on,

nor scattering of trash, in fact there isn't really visible trash at all.

Not even if you dive in the water and look.

The actual density of plastic trash in this natural gyre

is 4 sand-sized particles in each 260 gallons of water.
