Globularia alypum is a species of plant in the Plantaginaceae family. It is native to the Mediterranean basin in Greece, France, Italy, Spain and North Africa where it colonizes rocks and dry, arid terrains. It is a branched subshrub reaching 30-60 cm in height with erect stems. It is also widely used in folk medicine against skin diseases and abscesses, however there is no scientific evidence justifying its use. There is a study aimed to evaluate the wound healing and anti-inflammatory effect, the antibacterial and antioxidant activities, as well as the chemical compositions of GA methanolic extract (GAME).
