Imbil Lagoon

This morning at the lagoon was very special. Heavy fog at first, changing colour as the dawn broke, then slowly dissipating to reveal another glorious day.

The local meteorology here is interesting. There are many different effects because of the terrain and the directional alignment of the valley, for example.

The heavy winter fog settles on this riverine pocket, having drifted down the upper valley courtesy of the nightly land breeze, charged with fog by the lake upstream.

While we were out with the camera, the fog began to dissipate, the reflections emerged and the colours of the dawn kept exciting the photographer.
