Ballynageeragh Dolmen
This is a portal tomb with an oval roofstone (dims 4m X 2.65m) resting on the septal slab and backstone. A cushion-stone rests between the roofstone and the backstone. The tomb which faces South West, lacks portal-stones but the side-stones are present. Investigated and conserved in 1939-40 when cremated bone, flint and charcoal were found in the chamber. The east-end of the tomb is propped-up by a concrete block wall (to the right)and a concrete base was laid by P. Murray & Sons in 1944.
