Gesso Detail

I applied my homemade gesso in 3 layers until the surface was raised and let it cure overnight. To get the scoring on the bottom panel and the decorative dots on the top panel, I scraped the gesso with a tiny stylus to leave the marks and painted a final coat of gesso over where the scraping had taken the gesso back to parchment. After the curing, the gesso needed to be burnished smooth - I used a smooth hematite stone.
