Chasing Perseids
To capture this year's Perseid meteor shower, we chose the Visegrád Mountains in Hungary, where we spent the night. The envisioned foreground was provided by the silhouette of a completely dried-out tree standing at the edge of a field. Out of the 700 photos taken throughout the night, only 15 captured meteors, which I eventually combined into a single image. In the early morning sky and on the final image, the winter sky objects such as the California Nebula and the Pleiades star cluster are clearly visible. As a bonus, we were also treated to the aurora borealis, which appears in the lower left of the image with a reddish tint.
