Bass Museum, Burton
circa 1977. This engine was in a maltings at Sawbridgeworth, Herts. We dismantled it and moved it to Burton, then stripped it down and gave it a serious overhaul.
We installed it at the Bass Museum with a concealed drive via an electric motor and rubber wheels onto the bottom of the flywheel. It was 'opened' by Princess Anne but, as it didn't have four legs and a saddle, she wasn't very interested!
