Samuel De Champlain

Champlain (1580-1635) was a French navigator, cartographer, draughtsman, soldier, explorer, geographer, ethnologist, diplomat and chronicler. He founded Quebec City on July 3, 1608, and served as its administrator and governor of New France for the rest of his life.
