This was the very last passenger working on the branch. Regular scheduled passenger services had ceased in 1934! The line was closed completely a few days later and lifted. Today there is no trace of the station. The track-bed has been turned into a walk-way leading to Summerfield Park. A little further on from there, the bridge abutment over the Birmingham Canal can still be seen. The line crossed the canal and joined with the main line through Monument Road into Birmingham New Street Station.
Note on this picture the total disregard of modern Health & Safety directives. How much more pleasant life was in those days for the enthusiast!
