Stagecoach East Midlands Volvo Olympian IUI5454 (16314) "Hattie the Seasider" on Grand Parade, Skegness, 17/06/2016
Another one of the Stagecoach East Midlands open top fleet is Alexander RL-type bodied Volvo Olympian, IUI5454. This bus was new to Stagecoach South Coast in December 1998, then registered S314CCD. It was later renumbered to 16314 in the national numbering series. By 2008 it had been converted to open top, and was initially based at Grimsby Depot for use on Cleethorpes sea front services, and wore a dedicated livery. It was later repainted into a mainly black livery for use on the Lincoln City Tour, before being transferred to Skegness Depot, and repainted as "Hattie the Seasider".
16314 must surely now be in its last season of use, as non-DDA compliant vehicles will not be allowed to be used on "normal" services after 31/12/2016.
I took this photo on Grand Parade in Skegness on Friday 17th June 2016. The bus was on service 3 to Ingoldmells.
