Stagecoach East Midlands Volvo B7TL FX53TXC (16909) on High Street, Lincoln, 03/05/2016
The number of former Lincolnshire Roadcar vehicles still in service with Stagecoach is starting to dwindle now, with it now being 10 years since the Stagecoach purchased the Yorkshire Traction group, of which Roadcar was a part of.
Here in the sunshine today we see East Lancs Vyking bodied Volvo B7TL, FX53TXC. This bus was new to Roadcar in February 2004 as fleet number 909. It became 16909 with Stagecoach, and is currently painted in an adapted version of Stagecoach livery for Inter Connect services operated in partnership to Lincolnshire County Council.
This photo was taken on High Street in Lincoln, the bus is on service 1 to Wellingore, a village on the A607 between Lincoln and Grantham. I was stood where the old level crossing used to be for St Marks railway station, the main station building for which is just out of shot. The pedestrianised Station Street to the left of the bus was originally one of two vehicle entrances for St Marks bus station, which was demolished in 1995.
