Vyrostl jsem v Sudetech. V jednom z tehdy největších a nejkrásnějších česko-německých měst, kde se po staletí prolínaly oba jazyky a když obrozenci vymysleli koncept národa, tak i národy. Češi a Němci.
Poznal jsem to město už jenom ve chvíli, kdy v něm žili Češi, navíc jen málo z nich pamatovalo i tu dřívější dobu. Ale kulisy zůstaly celkem stejný. A celej život si lámu hlavu, jak moc to ovlivní lidi, kteří v nich vyrostou. Kultivují? Otupují? Těžko říct.
Stejnej pocit ve mně vyvolává po deseti letech tahle fotka. To základní je vlastně stejný. Hlavní nádraží, budova, perony, tvar haly... Ale to je všechno. Scéna stejná, herci už úplně jiní.
Ale zpátky do roku 2009. Je pátek 14. srpna, dvacet minut po astronomickém poledni a sluníčko podle toho taky praží. U nových peronů na prvním nástupišti postává připravený "Švejk", odpolední R1250 do Českých Budějovic. Tentokrát v režii 749.008.
Ale za pozornost stojí i to v pozadí. Vzadu 810.588 v dobovém reklamním polepu ČSSD, kterou tam zřejmě před chvílí pokřtil Paroubek. Nedělám si srandu, čas a datum odpovídá, odkaz níže. A vpravo na nějakém berounském obratu 451.060. Jeden z těch žabáků, který to vydržel až skoro do konce.
Nic z toho už není pravda. Vlastně ani ten Paroubek a celá jeho doba těžkotonážní politiky. Tři čtvrtě roku budeme zapíjet volby, který sice vyhrál, ale vlastně prohrál.

I grew up in so called Sudetenland. My grandparents came here few years after the WW2. They didn't get any property previously belonging to someone else, but this simply has to affect you. Around one third of this region used to be Czech already before WW2, but after all that mess you could hardly find someone whose family had been living here for more than a few decades. Same stage, different actors.
When I was a kid, I used to walk down the streets of my hometown and wonder who had been living here before, what were things like... This definitely affects you and gives at least some heritage which actually are not supposed to get.
The same feeling comes from this picture. In just ten years so many things has changed, but the stage remains just the same, slightly prettier.
It is a hot day, August 14th 2009 and the sun is right above, just few minutes after culmination. Take that engine in front, that's Bardotka 749.008, aleready set with two cars (funny train, eh) of the afternoon fast train towards Písek and České Budějovice. That consist is different now, engine has gone to museum and in a few months the line will be operated by a different company.
But even more interesting is the background in this case. From the left: contemporary advertisement on Hyundai i30 - it states - just from 10 thousand euros. Then the Prague Main station: the steel roof above the platforms is already rebuilt and a lot more transparent. And the other trains... there in the center, there is the tiny DMU 810.588, just a few moments ago presented with political advertisement of the Czech social democratic party. It was of little help for them as they narrowly won the elections in 2010 and they were not able to set up the goverment. And in the right is the legendary "Frog" 451.060, one of those that lasted just until the end last year.
Well, one would not have thought it took just ten years to alter all those things.
