I have now past though the opening in the wall shown in the previous photo
The site of Providence and Prosperous lead mines is visible and the upright stones are remains of the building which was the Engine Shed for the Providence
To the left in the trees is Providence Hall
The buildings in the distance which is over the valley containing Ashfold Side Beck is the farmstead of Merryfield (Beck means Stream)
Further left you can see smoke on the moor where they have started burning patches of the older heather to encourage the heather to produce new green shoots to feed red grouse and livestock. This can occur after Oct 1 to March 31 It is an emotive subject
